Congratulations to UTMB Dermatology for their recent publication in Advances in Skin & Wound Care, a peer-reviewed and PubMed indexed medical journal. Madelyn Schmidt, MD, a 2026 UTMB SOM graduate and 2025-2026 DIG President and PGY2 UTMB Dermatology resident in 2027 is the first author of this research, “Postoperative Inflammatory Complications Do Not Increase the Risk of Subsequent Primary Skin Cancer.” Her coauthors are Drs.
