UTMB MS3 Publishes Case Report

Congratulations to UTMB MS3 Josh Hays on his recent publication, “Delayed Diagnosis of Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Upper Lip: The Possible Role of Incidental Multinucleated Foreign Body Giant Cells” in Case Reports in Dermatology 2017;9:50–54 (Karger), a peer-reviewed open access online medical journal. His UTMB co-authors were Drs. Helen Malone (Mohs Fellow), Will Tausend (PGY3 Dermatology Resident), Brandon Goodwin (Dermatology and Dermatopathology Faculty), and Richard Wagner (Dermatology Residency and Mohs Fellowship Program Director). Dr. C. Helen Malone Completes UTMB Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) Fellowship

Congratulations to Dr. Malone! UTMB DIG members really appreciated your teaching and collaboration on our multiple research projects this academic year with you. Pictured with Dr. Malone (from left to right) are Dr. Richard Wagner (Fellowship Director) and the other two Mohs Fellowship Faculty, Drs. David Raimer and Aaron Joseph. Dr. Malone will begin the private practice of Mohs Surgery in Katy, Texas following program completion in June 2017. The new UTMB Mohs Fellowship is unique because it provides comprehensive fellowship training in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology in a setting that is a true blend of academic Mohs surgery in a University setting and private practice Mohs.

Dr. Emily Grimshaw Recognized for Best UTMB PGY4 Dermatology Research

The UTMB dermatology faculty vote annually to recognize the best dermatology resident research over the 3 year training program. UTMB Dermatology Resident to Serve on UTMB GME House Staff Subcommittee

Dr. Chinelo Ikpeama will serve with the UTMB Chief Resident Officers as a Member-at-Large. Her duties for the upcoming 2017-2018 academic year include attendance at the GME Chief Resident/HOA Subcommittee meetings.
