The January 2018 issue of Dermatology Online
Journal has published a letter about the dermatology applicants they
interviewed from 2011 through 2013 (2 interview cycles). Data collected
indicated that interview performance was the most correlated factor for
rank list than other application factors, such as research, letters of
recommendation, and test scores. This article is available at: https://escholarship.org/uc/item/5k86w5qs Although this report is not very surprising, it does confirm how important the interview is to applicants and to programs.
