Progress made on Indoor Tanning Bill in 2013 Texas Legislature
On Wednesday, 4/17/13 the Texas Senate passed SB 329 by a vote of 25-6. On the same day the Texas House Public Health Committee held hearings on HB 598, a similar type of legislation to prohibit indoor tanning for Texans who are younger than 18 years of age. Texas Dermatological Society President, Dr. Michael Wilkerson, provided testimony to the House committee. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UTMB.
