While it is difficult to believe that “The developer, who has no background in dermatology…” has developed an AI algorithm that is a good at diagnosing skin cancer “…as accurately as a group of 21 certified dermatologists,” the writer concludes that dermatologists are still needed because 5 million US skin cancers require treatment by 12,000 US dermatologists.
