Congratulations to Dr. Elise Weisert for her selection by AOA student members for induction into AOA. UTMB News recently featured David Garate (MS4) and Christopher Thang (MS3.5/research year) for their publication in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) (Impact Factor: 12.8) evaluating the risk of malignancy from topical benzoyl peroxide in acne patients.

19th Annual Steps Against Melanoma Walk
The Dermatology Interest Group and Plastic Surgery Interest Group are partnering with the AIM at Melanoma Foundation to host the 19th annual Steps Against Melanoma Walk! This event includes a 1-mile walk and a 5K run to support those affected by melanoma and contribute to ongoing research efforts.

The UTMB DIG congratulates Corley Pruneda, MD for her nomination for the UTMB Fellow of The year. Upon expected completion of the Mohs Fellowship, she plans to join a private dermatology practice in San Angelo, Texas where she will practice Mohs surgery and general dermatology.
