UTMB Dermatology Residents and Faculty Teach Medical Students Procedural Basics

The annual dermatologic procedures workshop sponsored by the UTMB DIG was a huge success again this year. Ten UTMB medical students (MS1s, MS2s and MS3s) learned injection techniques on a marshmallow, superficial biopsy techniques on a tomato, and punch biopsies and suturing on a pig’s foot. Our students were voluntarily assisted by PGY3 dermatology residents Drs. Rebecca Philips and Janice Wilson. Dr. Richard Wagner, our DIG faculty advisor, also assisted in this workshop.
