Ambulatory Community Selectives were adopted as a graduation requirement for UTMB MS4s during the 2004-2005 academic year (see http://ar.utmb.edu/ACSelectives/HistoryandRationale.htm ) and many UTMB medical students with a career interest in dermatology
worked with Texas dermatologists around the state to gain insight into
dermatology practice in the community setting. Although the option of
ACS is still available for UTMB medical students, the graduation
requirement may also be met through a clinical elective.
The University of Texas Medical Branch Dermatology Interest Group (UTMB DIG) is a resource for medical students interested in Dermatology as well as for dermatologists and residents.
