Careers in Pediatric Dermatology
An informative editorial in the November 2018
issue of Cutis (2018; 102:305-306) highlights the national shortage of
pediatric dermatologists and the increasing national need for these
subspecialists, but also pointed out existing barriers to those
interested in this area. Although there are currently 36 fellowship
training programs, not all are funded. In addition, the editorial noted
that pediatric dermatologists typically earn $100,000 less each year
than their dermatology colleagues who treat adults.
