UTMB
DIG had their annual Dermatology Procedure and Suture Workshop on
Monday where participants learned to how to perform common dermatology
procedures. Students learned how to do shave biopsies on tomatoes, punch
biopsies on pigs feet, and how to close excisions and punch biopsies using sutures. The UTMB DIG would like to thank our faculty advisor Dr.
Wagner and chief residents (PGY-4s) Dr. Wolf and Dr. Codrea for
volunteering their time to help teach students. Special
thanks to Michael Ryan (MS3) for organizing the event and bringing
supplies. The event was a great success and students left with an
understanding of some of the common procedures performed in dermatology
clinics.
The University of Texas Medical Branch Dermatology Interest Group (UTMB DIG) is a resource for medical students interested in Dermatology as well as for dermatologists and residents.
