Away rotations for fourth year medical students interested in dermatology
Current
DIG President Kristyna Gleghorn graciously took time out of her interview
season to provide advice on how to choose away rotations. Main points included:
beginning the VSAS application, getting immunizations now before VSAS
applications open, and having your application ready for submission by the
first of March since it is important to apply as early as possible (the day
applications open) for away rotations. Most students complete 2-3 away
rotations, and you may have to apply to more programs (~5-6) in order to make
sure you get accepted to 2-3 rotations that will work with your fourth year
schedule. Contacting programs directly by email or phone call to express
interest in a program can help when applying for aways.
