Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Armenta for his recognition by the UTMB Dermatology Faculty for Excellent Dermatology Research Performed during residency. His scholarly project was “Review of Tumor margins for staged surgical excisions with permanent section en face processing at UTMB for lentigo maligna, melanoma in situ, and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. His co-investigators on this work were MS3 Michael Adkison, Dr. Frank Winsett (2022-2023 UTMB Mohs Fellow), and faculty mentor, Dr. Richard Wagner. Faculty consider PGY4 resident overall academic research productivity during residency, research quality, research award(s) and departmental presentation of the required scholarly project when selecting the awardee each year.
