Vail Reese (private practice, San Francisco, CA) and Richard Wagner (Professor Dermatology and UTMB Dermatology Program Director).The article is available online at https://jofskin.org/index.php/skin/article/view/1751/1723 It is the latest UTMB Medial Student Research Honors Program Thesis to be published, a program inaugurated by Dr. Wagner in the UTMB Department of Dermatology for students interested in dermatology research in 2001. Dr. Wagner has an academic interest in how media influences public perceptions about skin diseases, and he offers several courses to UTMB and visiting medical students throughout each academic year, including popular film electives and Selectives (DERU-4007 and DERU-4051), as well as other electives and Selectives in humanities related to skin diseases.
