The University of Texas Medical Branch has been named to the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals - specifically in the Top 15 nationwide among major teaching hospitals! UTMB is one of only three hospitals in Texas to be included on this year's list.
Issued each year, the IBM Watson Health list was created to help identify top performance benchmarks that may help other health care organizations achieve consistent, balanced, sustainable high performance. Researchers evaluated 3,134 short-term, acute-care, non-federal U.S. hospitals for a variety of measures, including lower inpatient mortality rates and fewer patient complications, shorter lengths of stay and faster emergency care.
