A study published in the April 2020 issue of Dermatology Online Journal “Does it match? Analyzing self-reported online dermatology match data to Charting Outcomes in the Match” presents the results of a univariate analysis of predictive factors for applicants receiving dermatology residency. It is not surprising that statistically significant factors that identified applicants receiving more interviews were membership in AOA (possibly most useful in comparing applicants from the same medical school), more total publications, and more dermatology-specific publications.
