Congratulations
to UTMB MS4 Keith Wagner for the successful defense of his thesis,
“Skin Disease Hoaxes on the Internet: An Evaluation on Their Scope and
Potential
Impact on Dermatology.” His ad hoc honors thesis committee Drs. MK Peek,
Janice Wilson (faculty mentor), Sharon Raimer, and Brent Kelly award
him Magna Cum Laude graduation research honors. There were a total of 2
UTMB MS4s who completed Dermatology Honors
Research Programs in the SOM Class of 2019. 32 UTMB UTMB medical
students have now completed this program in dermatology research since
the Department of Dermatology began participation in 2001. 26 of them
are currently in dermatology residency programs or
practicing dermatology, 1 is currently in a dermatology clinical
fellowship, and 3 are still medical students at UTMB.
The University of Texas Medical Branch Dermatology Interest Group (UTMB DIG) is a resource for medical students interested in Dermatology as well as for dermatologists and residents.
