Happy Birthday! Mrs. Head began working at UTMB
during WW2 when she was 16 years old. She is an important part of the
dermatology department (especially in mycology) and remembers all of the
dermatology residents and faculty who trained and worked at UTMB. She
recently co-authored a poster presented at the 2018 spring Texas
Dermatological Society about one of her Ball High School (Galveston)
Classmates, Dr. Charles Wilson who was the first physician to perform
Mohs surgery at UTMB in the 1950s. In this 90th birthday photo, Mrs.
Head is standing between UTMB faculty dermatologists, Drs. Brent and
Erica Kelly. Thank you Dr. M. Wilkerson for the photo!
The University of Texas Medical Branch Dermatology Interest Group (UTMB DIG) is a resource for medical students interested in Dermatology as well as for dermatologists and residents.
