NRMP Applicant Survey Data for 2013 Dermatology Match
Each year the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) reports data from their applicant survey. In 2013 55% of US seniors who applied to Dermatology completed the survey. Those who matched into a dermatology residency applied to more programs (72) and received less interviews (10) on average than all other specialties surveyed. When deciding on where to place programs on their rank list, matched applicants were most likely to factor in the quality of faculty, reputation, geographic location, and quality of residents of a program.
