Together with the UTMB Dermatology Interest Group, Dr. Julie
Martin, a PGY4 UTMB dermatology resident, offered a procedural workshop for
UTMB students. This new educational opportunity is part of Dr. Martin's
dermatology scholarly project, specifically initiated for rotating dermatology
elective students during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Due to an increased interest, Dr. Martin held an additional
workshop the following day and plans to offer the workshop again in the future.
Students were given a lecture on surgical instruments and
techniques frequently used by dermatologists and were also taught how to
perform tangential biopsies, punch biopsies, injections and suturing
techniques.

workshop!
