UTMB Dermatology Faculty Dr. Sharon Raimer's Retirement
Congratulations to Dr. Sharon Raimer on her recent retirement! Dr. Sharon Raimer is a board-certified dermatologist with a focus on general and pediatric dermatology. She graduated from Medical School at UTMB and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Raimer is a Past Chair of the Dermatology Department, has over 20 years of leadership, and has received many acknowledgments, including being recognized as a Houstonian Top Doctor, listed in Super Doctors®, and named one of the Best Doctors in America. Her dedication to academia and excellent patient care is celebrated, and we look forward to her future coverage in clinics from time to time and participation in academic events.

Join UTMB DIG at the Upcoming ‘Take ACTION for Psoriatic Disease' Fundraiser in Houston
On September 30th, 2023, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is hosting the “Take ACTION for Psoriatic Disease” fundraiser at the Houston Zoo. UTMB DIG is collaborating with NPF on developing a pre- and/or post-event volunteer set up/tear down following the event; more details to come soon! The actual fundraiser is being held from 7:30 AM until 10 AM at 6200 Hermann Park Dr Houston, Texas 77030. Some of the activities include “education, food, entertainment, vendor booths, and an inspiring program. Plus, stay after and enjoy the zoo with your family, including the Galapagos Islands, the first major exhibit of its kind in the world!"

I shared a link last year from one of our dermatology residents (Dr. Jennifer Fernandez) with a comprehensive guide of advice for derm applicants (compiled with input from applicants and PDs/APDs across the country). She has updated the guide along with needing an updated link due to email permissions.
