AAD/SID Diversity Mentorship Gap Year Research Grant Award

Thinking about a Gap Year with a Paid Fellowship?

Introducing a new AAD & SID Gap Year Research Grant for Diverse Medical Students to Do Dermatologic Research!

If you are like many medical students, you welcome the opportunity to take a research year between your third and fourth year of medical school. Now you can!

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) partnered with the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) to create a fellowship program designed to support tomorrow’s Dermatology leaders in Medicine and Biomedical Research. The fellowship provides the funds needed to support URiM medical students interested in taking a gap year to do dermatologic research.

A gap year of research fosters physician-scientist careers and improves the ability to match into your preferred specialty.

AAD/SID Diversity Mentorship Gap Year Research Grant Awards

Up to five awards of $30,000 each as a living allowance to encourage URiM residents to pursue a 10-12 month research fellowship.

Hurry you have until January 31, 2023 to apply!
