UTMB DIG President Publishes Honors Research Project
Congratulations to Andrea Francis, the 2022-2023 UTMB Dermatology Interest Group President for her recent publication (October 24, 2022), “Providing Hats and Sun Safe Information to Galveston’s Homeless: Practicing Safe Sun in Galveston,” in the peer-reviewed journal, The Online Journal of Community and Person-Centered Dermatology (OJCPCD). Honors Research Project Meeting Recap
- The Honors Research Program in research training for medical students that augments the regular medical school curriculum and leads to the conferment of Honors in Research in a Special Field at graduation.
- Research proposal
- 5-12 pages
- Should contain objectives, background, methods, preliminary results, conclusion, and references
- Letter of Support
- After the project is accepted, researchers should form a 4 -5 members committee who they will present their thesis to after completion
- Successful completion of the Honors Program requires the writing (at least 12-25 pages) and oral defense of a thesis
- The final oral defense of the thesis will be conducted by the Ad Hoc Thesis Committee no later than April 1st prior to graduation
- Ensure you receive proper IRB approval for your project
